In this privacy policy, we describe how we process data, including personal data. We are committed to a lawful, fair and transparent processing of personal data, adhering to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We process the following (categories of) personal data
a. Name. We collect the given names (first name, family name) of a limited number of contacts for each terminal. For example for the General Manager, the Commercial Manager and the Terminal Manager.
b. Email address. This is often a general address, but may include the name of the contact.
c. Telephone number. This is often an office phone, but may include mobile numbers.
d. Employment Positions and Status. For example General Manager, Commercial Manager, Terminal Manager.

The above information may also be reflected in news about each terminal that we collect from the tank terminals’ websites.

What (purposes) do we use the data for
We use the data under 1. to offer two services:
a. A database, where subscribers can obtain the above information per terminal in a structured format. Subscribers can search on a terminal name, location, etc. Pursuant to our conditions of use, subscribers are only allowed to use the information obtained for their own business purposes such as finding storage capacity for their bulk cargo, and not copy or reproduce the information elsewhere.
b. A newsletter we periodically send to all our database subscribers. We also add e-mails that we obtain from general inquiries to this list. Within each newsletter email, an opt-out link is provided.

What is our legal basis for the processing
We base our processing on the legitimate interests of us and our subscribers in having access to structured data on tank terminals worldwide in a searchable database.

Where do we obtain the data from (sources)
We collect and verify the data for our database, including any personal data contained therein, by both automated (scraping) and manual means. We do this by accessing publicly accessible websites of tank terminals worldwide. In some cases the data is provided, checked and/or complemented by representatives of respective terminals.

How long and where do we store data
We will retain data in our database, including any personal data, until such information is updated on the publicly accessible website of the related tank terminal. We periodically revisit each tank terminal website and/or ask terminal’s representatives to verify the data, and if the information that we have on store has changed, we erase the old data, including any personal data.

On average, the information in our database is verified each 6 months.
We may store (aggregated) subscriber data longer if needed for tax or auditing reasons.
We store newsletter subscriber data until the subscriber has opted-out from receiving the newsletter.

What safeguards have we taken to protect data
Taking into account the nature, scope, context and purpose of the processing, we have taken the following technical and organizational measures:
a. Our database, and the information contained therein, is protected with access control.
b. Access to the database is limited, not all employees in our organization have full access.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

We do not actively monitor the security of our database and need to rely on our processors to verify us of any data breaches.

Who do we share data with
c. Subscribers to our database. These typically include product owners (companies that rent tanks to store liquid products), terminal operators, investors in terminal assets, equipment suppliers to terminals, consultants and advisors doing research into the terminal sector, data-aggregators that use and integrate our data into their own service and sell this service (including our data) to third parties.
d. Subscribers to our newsletter. These typically include all of the above, except data-aggregators.

Transfer of your personal data
You should also know that your personal data may be transferred from your home country to third parties. If you are an EU resident, this could imply that we also transfer data to countries that do not offer an adequate level of protection for your personal data. When we transfer this data, we will do so only when we have put in place appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data. Please contact us to get a copy of the safeguards that we have put in place. Our contact details are at the bottom of this text.
